A Sunday evening series hosted by The Cinema Society of Kingston, featuring utopian visions of lost futures, to Technicolor TV monsters and cyborg cowboys!
To kick off the series, our friend and guest-programmer Barry Yuen will be introducing Westworld (1973), the 1973 adaptation of Michael Crichton's book of the same name, and the basis for the recent popular television series. Then, we travel back in time to 1965 for the first (and more or less only) big-screen adaptation of the UK television sensation Dr. Who—Dr. Who and the Daleks (1965)—starring Peter Cushing as the titular alien adventurer. And finally, to round-up the series, we wind the clock back to 1936, to take a peek into the distant future once imagined by H.G. Wells in the speculative sci-fi epic, Things to Come (1939). All tickets are $10
