The Doctor Is In: An Exploration of Medical Horror

Series Intro

A Sunday afternoon series presented by The Canadian Museum of Health Care and The Cinema Society of Kingston.

Healthcare is a common subject in horror cinema, as famously depicted in Georges Franju’s Les Yeaux Sans Visage (1960). But how do places and people presumably meant to help and heal instead become pop cultural figures of fear? Join Rowena McGowan, Curator of the Museum of Health Care, and film scholar, Dr. Dan Vena, as they dissect the genre with a mini pre-screening lecture and accompanying artifacts from the Museum of Health Care's collection.

All tickets only $10 (hst included!).
